Meet the Experienced Rockledge Dentists
Dr. Jeffrey Nichols
Dr. Jeff Nichols has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Nichols performed his residency at Circles of Care in Melbourne. He focused his attention on what he valued the most -- helping others. He worked at Devereux Children's Hospital, working with abused children and making the decision to attend dental school. He performed pre-dental coursework at the University of Central Florida before earning his D.M.D. degree from the University of Florida. Upon graduation, he became an associate in an extremely busy private dental practice. This allowed him the opportunity to become proficient in many different areas of dentistry. After six years as an associate, he made the difficult but exciting decision to open his own private practice. The practice has thrived, mostly due to the excellent staff that works hard every day taking care of our valued dental family.
He recently, with the help of his wife, opened Premier Walk-In Dental, located in Rockledge, Florida. This office provides convenient dental care for busy lifestyles on a walk-in basis.
Dr. Nichols is a member of the Brevard County Dental Association, Central Florida Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He is certified in Invisalign, ClearCorrect, CEREC, and Lumineers. He supports several sports teams in the community with monetary contributions.
Both Dr. Nichols and his wife Lisa were born in Florida, he in Melbourne and she in Hollywood. Most of their family lives in Melbourne and the surrounding towns. They have no chlidren of their own, but can borrow many nieces and nephews any time they wish. They have two Pomeranians, 2 cats, and 1 extremely loud parrot. Dr. Nichols enjoys cars of all types: hot rods, muscle cars, sports cars...anything that has 4 wheels. He also has a passion for racing of any type and taking his car to the track when time allows. His other interests are physical fitness, football, and martial arts.
Dr. Nichols simply enjoys working with and helping others. Sometimes it feels as though the patients have helped Dr. Nichols more than he has helped them. Quite often he walks out of the office in the afternoon feeling better than when he came in. This is a feeling he discovered at a young age while working as a transport orderly at Holmes Regional Hospital. He discovered quickly that he was not wheeling around patients but people with lives and loved ones outside the walls of the hospital. He has never forgotten that people -- not patients -- was who he was trying to help and relate to. Shortly before leaving for dental school he answered calls for help on a crisis hotline for suicide prevention. This experience helps him to remain calm in all situations and have that same calming effect on others that come into his office today. He strives to keep a professional but light-hearted atmosphere in the office. He sometimes jokes with his patients, who all know about his background in psychology, "If you decide to jump out the window, don't worry. I will talk you out of it!"
Dr. Ryan Collins
Dr. Ryan Collins grew up in Melbourne Beach, right here in Brevard County. After graduating Melbourne High School, he attended the University of Florida. In his freshman year of college, he was accepted to the University of Florida College of Dentistry’s Early Admission Program. This allowed him to earn both his Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and a Doctorate in Dental Medicine in only seven years. Upon graduating dental school Dr. Collins was the youngest licensed dentist in the state of Florida. He spent his first 3 years as a dentist working in a non-profit dental clinic in rural Indian River County. There he picked up fast-paced clinical skills while working alongside experienced dentists and specialists, a little bit of Spanish, and great satisfaction from helping an underserved community.
Dr Collins’ background in nutrition helps him educate patients on the complex interactions between their diet and their oral health. This is an often overlooked aspect of dentistry that Dr. Collins is uniquely qualified to address. He also prides himself on staying at the forefront of the constant advancements in dentistry through continuing education. He enjoys making dentures, both full and partial, restoring teeth with root canals and crowns, extractions and helping patients with TMJ issues. His favorite part of the “walk-in” dental setting is the immediate gratification that comes from caring for someone quickly when they need it the most.
Dr. Collins recently married his fellow Mel High sweetheart Ashley, who is a gymnastics instructor. They love traveling and cooking together, and both have family in the area. Ryan enjoys surfing, fishing, golf, tennis, basketball, kayaking and helping out on weekends with Habitat for Humanity.
